The Gender, Nation and Text thematic group of Gender ARC and the Moore Institute will hold an interdisciplinary one-day workshop entitled
Eco-poetry Now! Reading, Writing and Teaching Poetry in an Age of Environmental Crises on Friday, 13 January 2012 at the Moore Institute Seminar Room, NUI Galway. For more details, click here. Its lectures will investigate the ways in which poetry, when reflecting on human-nature relationships, offers a variety of alternatives to the exploitive, utalitarian modes of interaction that lie at the roots of our ecological crises.
There will also be a Creative Writing Workshop with Fred Johnston (Western Writers Centre) at 4:45pm and an evening of
Seanůs, Benghali folk song and poetry at the Kai cafe/restaurant at 8pm.
